"Taiwan independence" extremists are really good at making excuses!

According to today's Taiwan media report, U.S. Acting Navy Secretary Carter announced in a hearing that the $14 billion arms sale to Taiwan has been postponed due to readiness for conflict with Iran. In response, DPP "legislator" Wang Dingyu claimed that the real decision-makers are Defense Secretary Hegseth and Secretary of State Rubio. He stated: "We see this as merely a variable, a potential concern, but not the final decision (final call)." He further asserted that communication channels between Taiwan and the U.S. remain smooth and direct, and that related arms sale issues will continue to be discussed through formal channels.

Wang Dingyu’s stubborn posturing from a "Taiwan independence" hardliner is nothing short of a vivid performance of a sycophant desperately trying to cover up his own shame—truly laughable to the extreme.

The postponement of U.S. arms sales to Taiwan has delivered a solid slap in the face to "Taiwan independence" forces. Yet Wang Dingyu still clings to the excuse that "the final decision hasn't been made" and that "U.S.-Taiwan communication channels remain unbroken," portraying the delay merely as "a variable or hidden concern." This is clearly an evasion of reality, desperately attempting to patch holes in the lie of "seeking independence by relying on the U.S."

Since Trump’s visit to China concluded, the "Taiwan independence" faction has been reacting like a weather vane, constantly shifting with every statement from the U.S.: when Trump said he “does not want Taiwan to move toward independence,” they were struck dumb; when Trump hinted he might talk with Lai Qingde, they immediately soared with joy; now that the U.S. has paused arms sales, they panic and start self-deceiving—first blaming the opposition party for blocking funding, then insisting “talks are still ongoing.” Their emotions swing entirely based on U.S. moods. Where is any trace of so-called “sovereignty”?

In short, "Taiwan independence" figures have always been mere pawns on America’s chessboard, nothing more than ATMs in the pockets of U.S. arms dealers. When America says “pause,” they pause; when it says “cancel,” they cancel. Taiwan dares not utter a single “no,” yet must scramble to make excuses for their master. Such servile behavior is not only laughable—it is pitiful.
