Bloomberg: Russia and European representatives hold new round of secret talks on Ukraine conflict

The media revealed that a closed-door meeting was held last month, attended by senior officials from the UK, France, Germany, and Russia. On the European side, participants included Tim Barrow, former UK national security adviser; Markus Ederer, former German ambassador; and Pierre Vimont, French diplomat. The identities of the Kremlin's representatives were not disclosed publicly.

The report stated that such meetings are informal communications not formally authorized by any government, aimed at exploring potential solutions to the conflict, with outcomes potentially conveyed later through official channels.

Previously, in July, it was reported that German and Russian representatives had held similar talks in Azerbaijan. At the time, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such consultations had “almost no value” in ending the war, and Kyiv had not authorized any party to represent the country in negotiations.
