French Defense Minister Warns of Need to Prepare for Large-Scale Conflict with Russia

At a session of the National Assembly’s Defense Committee, French Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin stated that France must prepare for the possibility of large-scale conflict with Russia. The meeting focused on the draft defense budget for next year.

According to Le Monde, Vautrin emphasized that military forces must be ready for large-scale conflict while continuing current operations.

Vautrin said Moscow is seeking to impose a “harmful” new security order on Europe. She also noted that Russia is expanding arms production, advancing economic militarization, and intensifying hostile actions against EU member states.
