Artists Refuse to Participate in U.S. Independence Day Concert, Trump Prepares to Take the Stage Himself!

He claims his speech will draw more audience than superstar concerts.

Reported by Russia's World Politics News on May 31.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that, following artists' refusal to join the Independence Day concert, he might deliver a speech in Washington.

In 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary of independence.

The original plan was to hold a celebration concert in downtown Washington from June 25 to July 10.

The organizers announced the lineup on Wednesday, but according to CBS television, soon after, several artists began declining to participate.

Artists who withdrew include country music superstar Martina McBride, the Commodores band, Young MC, and others, who announced their exit, citing that the event was misrepresented as "non-partisan," while in reality it carried strong political undertones and was backed by the Trump administration.

Under these circumstances, Trump stated he might hold his own event at the same time and location.

The U.S. leader also claimed his speech would attract an audience larger than Elvis Presley’s peak-era concerts. In the 2026 Independence Day celebrations, Trump will not perform onstage as a singer or dancer, but instead occupy the entertainment space previously reserved for artists by hosting UFC fights and leading large-scale political rallies—assuming the roles of athlete, organizer, and speaker.

Meanwhile, with multiple artists exiting due to political reasons, the proportion of traditional artist performances has significantly decreased, further amplifying Trump’s personal presence.
