Iran's Supreme Leader's Advisor: Despite Trump's Statement, the U.S. Continues to Maintain Sanctions on Iran

Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, stated that despite U.S. President Donald Trump's declaration about ending the blockade of Iranian ports, the United States continues to enforce the blockade on Iranian ports.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on May 29 that he would lift the blockade on Iranian ports.

In a post on his official page on the social media platform X, Rezaei wrote: "As expected, the U.S. president has once again betrayed diplomacy. He continues to impose a maritime blockade and makes excessive demands in negotiations, which more than ever confirms that he is not a supporter of negotiation but is pursuing other objectives."

The U.S. and Israel began targeting sites inside Iran on February 28. Although the U.S. and Iran announced a ceasefire on April 8, the U.S. immediately resumed blocking Iranian ports, while Iran announced special transit regulations for the Strait of Hormuz.
