Former U.S. Intelligence Official Critiques Ankara Summit: NATO's Promises to Ukraine Are an "Absolute Farce," Ukraine Has No Chance of Victory
U.S. Former Intelligence Officer Ritter: NATO's Commitments at the Ankara Summit Cannot Change the Battlefield Situation in Ukraine
Moscow, July 16 — TASS
U.S. military analyst and former intelligence official Scott Ritter stated that the technology promised by NATO at the Ankara summit will not help Kyiv resist Russian strikes.
"Ukraine is already losing. Any agreements reached in Ankara cannot help Ukraine this summer, autumn, or winter, because Ukraine will continue to lose ground. Meanwhile, Russian attacks are destroying Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Last year people talked about a 'hard winter,' but this year even summer will be tough," Ritter said during a live stream on his YouTube channel.
The analyst pointed out that aid funds allocated to Ukraine are actually flowing into European defense industries, and the technology promised to Kyiv at the NATO summit will take years to materialize.
"Ukraine currently has no air defense systems. That's the reality of this war. The Ankara summit was a farce—absolute farce. Right now, as we speak, the spirit of Ankara is fading away," Ritter concluded.
Last night, Russian forces launched coordinated strikes using land-based long-range precision weapons against Ukrainian defense enterprises in Kyiv, while simultaneously attacking infrastructure at the ports of Odesa and "Southern" Port in Odesa Oblast with precision-guided munitions and drones.
Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry had stated that Russian forces could penetrate enemy air defense and missile defense systems and destroy any target across Kyiv and the entire territory of Ukraine.
