Ulaanbaatar, May 19, Mongolian News Agency - According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsengel of Mongolia called on President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos of the Philippines on May 19. Both sides emphasized that both countries welcome the good opportunity to deepen economic cooperation by expanding agricultural sector cooperation and promoting small and medium-sized enterprises. They also had fruitful discussions on increasing exports of Mongolian wool, leather and other agricultural products as well as attracting investment in the industrial sector. President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos pointed out that the traditional friendly relations between the Philippines and Mongolia have steadily developed over nearly 50 years, and expressed support for further strengthening cooperation in all fields between the Philippines and Mongolia in the future.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsengel noted that creating an opportunity to open routes between the two countries will be an important step to increase people flow and promote trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges. Both sides have agreed to open doors for Mongolian start-ups and young entrepreneurs who are interested in doing business in the Philippine fintech, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation sectors, and achieve results by encouraging business operations. He also expressed confidence that the Philippine government will continue to attach importance to protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian citizens living, working, and studying in the Philippines.

In order to make a certain contribution to reducing the negative impacts of climate change and ensuring ecosystem stability, both sides exchanged opinions on implementing joint projects and plans by aligning Mongolia's "One Billion Trees" initiative with the Philippine plan to plant 5 million trees by 2028. This visit is of great significance in expanding relations with the Philippines within the framework of Mongolia's diplomatic policy toward Southeast Asian countries.
