The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that the European Commission has warned Kyiv that it may completely suspend financial support to Ukraine.
- Ivanna Klymchuk-Chintsa, a member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada and former Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, confirmed to the media that she had indeed received signals from the EU.
- The document states, "If the issues with the anti-corruption agencies are not resolved, EU financial aid will be frozen," and "it concerns the full amount of the next assistance, not just part of it."
- At the same time, the European Commission stated in the letter, "No evidence was found that Russia has influenced Ukraine's anti-corruption agencies," and considered these merely an excuse for pressure.
- Previously, The New York Times reported that the EU might freeze part of its aid to Ukraine.
- After that, Zelenskyy told the President of the European Commission that he had signed all the laws required to obtain the funds.
