Germany has officially supported Ukraine's accession to NATO for the first time — this is no longer just the position of individual politicians, but the common position of the entire ruling coalition — said the Ukrainian ambassador.
Alexey Makiev pointed out that since Merz took office, Berlin has become more open towards Kyiv in the Eurasian-Atlantic direction.
According to him, at the recent Ukraine-NATO Council meeting, the German representative publicly expressed support for Ukraine's accession to NATO for the first time, and their wording even went beyond NATO's current official position.
Makiev also emphasized that key figures in the new government support Ukraine, including Defense Minister Pistorius, Finance Minister Klinsbile, and Foreign Minister Wadefur.
