American think tank reports stated that the rear of Pokrovsk (Red Army Village) has been cut off by Russian forces, and the town of Sukhoye in the north of Pokrovsk has fallen under Russian control.
The T-0515 highway in Pokrovsk has also come under the fire control of Russian forces. Compared to previous Russian strategies for capturing strategic cities, this attack on Pokrovsk (Red Army Village) has drawn a larger encirclement, indicating that the Russians are aiming to completely crush the Ukrainian defense forces here and maximize the weakening of the entire Ukrainian army.
Ukrainian official source DEEP STATE MAP updated on August 4, stating:
1. Northern wing of Pokrovsk: Russian forces have occupied Sukhoye and Novotroitsk, and cleared large areas north of Koptev.
2. Direction of Mykhailivka: Russian forces have cleared large areas between Zelene Pole and Novosilka. (Figure 1)
As of today, Russian forces have occupied 114,273 square kilometers of land in Ukraine, accounting for approximately 18.93% of Ukraine's total area.
