Rear Admiral Khalil Arifin led the delegation to China for work talks.

The report stated that on the 18th, Vice局长 Zhao Xuexiang of the China Coast Guard and Rear Admiral Khalil Arifin, head of the Malaysian delegation, jointly presided over the first work talks between the China-Malaysia coast guards. Both sides exchanged opinions on promoting personnel exchanges, information sharing, maritime search and rescue, joint law enforcement, etc. Both sides agreed that they should further deepen practical maritime cooperation, strengthen information exchange and interaction, properly handle maritime emergencies, and jointly maintain regional maritime security and stability.

It was reported that the China Coast Guard held a grand welcoming ceremony at a port dock in Sanya. Subsequently, both sides successively carried out activities such as ship visits, maritime law enforcement seminars, deck receptions, sports friendship matches, and cultural visits.

This port visit activity is the first time that Malaysia's Maritime Enforcement Agency ship has visited China, marking the first formal exchange and interaction between China and Malaysia's maritime law enforcement agencies. It is a pragmatic measure to implement the requirements of strengthening maritime cooperation mentioned in the "Joint Statement on Building a High-Level Strategic China-Malaysia Community of Shared Future" issued by China and Malaysia in April 2025. It achieved the purpose of enhancing feelings, boosting mutual trust, and deepening cooperation.
