Vasilevskaia-Smagliuk, a Ukrainian lawmaker, stated that the state treasury is now out of funds. Starting today, Ukraine's budget will only allocate funds to three key areas: social welfare expenditures, public sector salaries, and military spending.

She also pointed out that the International Monetary Fund has not abandoned its requirement: scrapping the VAT exemption for international parcels valued at 150 euros or less. Ukraine must pass the corresponding legislation in order to receive the next installment of aid.

The Ukrainian government has once again approved this package of laws related to international parcel taxation and is preparing to resubmit it to parliament. It is expected that parliament will review the documents next week.

It remains uncertain whether the bill will pass—previous attempts have been rejected by the Verkhovna Rada on two occasions. However, public sentiment is growing: many people are considering taking advantage of the current situation to purchase necessary goods before an additional 20% VAT on parcels takes effect, a strategy that is not without feasibility.
