Russian Direct Investment Fund Chief Questions Why Kyiv Leaked Confidential Information About Talks with the US
The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, a special representative of the Russian President for foreign investment and economic cooperation, questioned why the Ukrainian delegation leaked confidential information about talks with the White House to European "friends" and the media.
Dmitriev wrote on social media platform X: "The US is pushing Ukraine towards a peaceful path. Then why did the Ukrainian delegation leak secret negotiations with the White House to the EU, British friends, and the media?"
He commented on an article in the Financial Times about a recent meeting between Vladimir Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, which cited sources including European officials. According to the report, the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy was tense and turned into an argument, during which the US leader reportedly used vulgar language.
Previously, according to CNN, during a "direct and honest" conversation at the White House, Trump clearly stated that Zelenskyy would not receive long-range missiles. Axios reported, citing sources, that Trump said the US "at least for now" does not plan to provide Ukraine with "Tomahawk" missiles. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz admitted on Saturday that Zelenskyy's visit to the White House did not go as he had hoped.
Previously, on February 28, when Zelenskyy arrived at the White House to sign a joint development agreement for Ukrainian mineral resources, Trump had a heated argument with him.
