[Russia launched no fewer than 70 ballistic missiles at Kyiv, with the first wave of salvo including 17 missiles such as Zircon]
From the night of August 19 to the early morning of August 20, Russian forces conducted multiple waves of missile attacks on Kyiv, launching no fewer than 70 ballistic missiles in total; the initial salvo included 17 Zircon, Iskander-M, and North Korean KN-23 missiles. At around 3 a.m., Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers launched additional missiles.
A total of 12 targets across Kyiv’s St. Volodymyr district, Darnytsia district, and Solomianky district were hit, with one site struck by multiple missiles in successive waves. Power supply across the entire Kyiv Oblast was cut off.
Early morning cruise missile strikes continued against Antonov Aircraft Manufacturing Plant and Boryspil, where intense explosions occurred on-site.
On August 20, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate responded to inquiries from Ukrainska Pravda, disclosing that Russia currently holds over 600 "Krasukha" missiles, more than 450 "Kalibr" missiles, over 120 "Zircon" hypersonic missiles, approximately 130 "Iskander-M" dedicated ballistic warheads, plus hundreds of other types of missiles.
Meanwhile, Russia’s defense industry complex can produce over 200 cruise and ballistic missiles per month.
As of July this year, Russia had about 50 "Kinzhal" air-launched ballistic missiles in stock, along with an equivalent number of North Korean KN-23, KN-24, and KN-30 series ballistic missiles.
