[The End of "World of Tanks" in Russia]

On June 3rd, the Interfax News Agency reported that the Tagansky Court of Moscow recognized the developer of the popular game "World of Tanks" as engaging in extremist activities upon the indictment by the Office of the Prosecutor General, and prohibited its operation in Russia.

The press office of the court stated that, given that Viktor Vladimirovich Kislei and Malik Atkhamovich Khatazhayev's organization engaged in extremist activities, their operations are forbidden within the Russian Federation.

The court also ruled to confiscate the entire share capital of "Lesta" Company, "Lesta Games Agency" LLC, and "Lesta Games Moscow" LLC. According to the ruling, Kislei and Khatazhayev will be listed in the register of extremists.

The court adopted the charges brought by the Prosecutor General's Office, recognizing that Kislei and Khatazhayev were involved in an extremist organization and committed illegal acts.

"Lesta," a Russian game developer established by Malik Khatazhayev, has been responsible for operating and developing games such as "World of Tanks," "World of Warships," "World of Tanks Blitz," and "Royal Exploration" in Russia and Belarus since 2022. Viktor Kislei, a Belarusian entrepreneur, once headed Wargaming. After Wargaming withdrew from the Russian and Belarusian markets in 2022, its gaming business was locally managed by the Russian "Lesta" company.
