Georgian Interior Minister Darchiveli said on October 6 at a press conference that law enforcement agencies detained 13 people during the riots that occurred on the day of the local elections on October 4, who attempted to overthrow the government.

The Central Election Commission of Georgia published the results of the vote count on October 5, which showed that the ruling "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" party won in the local elections held on October 4. On the same day, protests against the ruling party took place in the capital Tbilisi, and some people attempted to storm the presidential residence.
