Mexican President: The US has deported 152,000 people to Mexico during Trump's term

Sputnik News, Mexico City - Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum told the media that the current US government has deported more than 152,000 people to Mexico since taking office in January 2025.

Sheinbaum said, "Since January 20th, 152,592 people have been deported, of which 140,706 were Mexicans and 11,886 were foreigners."

Sheinbaum pointed out that the number of people deported by former US President Biden's administration was even higher. For example, from October 2024 when he was still in office until Trump took office the following January, the US deported nearly 65,000 people to Mexico.

Sheinbaum reiterated that the main task of the Mexican government remains to create conditions so that citizens do not have to leave their hometowns to seek a decent life. She said, "The policies of the 'Fourth Change' government focus precisely on this."

Sheinbaum said that welfare centers have provided over 814,000 services to Mexican citizens returning from the US, including providing nearly 282,000 meals, more than 98,000 domestic travel services, and processing health insurance.
