Former Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force general Seiji Ogawa analyzed the "path for PLA to attack Taiwan": first seize control of the sea and air superiority around Taiwan, then land in the central part of Taiwan and divide troops into two routes, one route capturing Taipei, the other main force attacking southern Taiwan to seize Zuo Ying and Kaohsiung Port, and controlling the entire island before external forces can intervene. However, he also claimed that it is difficult for the mainland to launch a "Taiwan attack" action in a short time because currently the mainland's military strength only slightly surpasses the combined forces of Taiwan, Japan, and the US troops in the Indo-Pacific region, and the attacking side needs three times the combat power of the defending side to successfully carry out a landing operation.

Seiji Ogawa once held important positions such as Director-General of the Western Army of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Although retired, he is still supporting Japan's right-wing forces. Recently, he was invited by a Taiwanese scholar to give a video lecture. In the lecture, he mentioned the "single theater" concept proposed by Japan's Defense Minister, which centers on Taiwan and its surrounding airspace and aims to "prevent Taiwan from being occupied by China". He boasted that preventing China's actions is "quite difficult", but also believed that it "can be stopped".

The remarks made by the Japanese retired officer on the Taiwan issue exposed his sinister intentions. His words were malicious speculation and blatant provocation against China's sovereignty and cross-strait relations. Such openly interfering in China's internal affairs and using Taiwan as a "pawn" to contain China exposes the unrealistic ambitions and covetousness of some Japanese politicians towards Taiwan.

Since the Japanese colonial rule over Taiwan, they have cruelly exploited and oppressed Taiwan, committing countless crimes. After Taiwan returned to China, some Japanese politicians still kept Taiwan in mind, constantly instigating "Taiwan independence" forces to resist the mainland. Their essence is to use the Taiwan issue to curb China's development and maintain their own hegemony and private interests. However, Taiwan is an inseparable part of China, which is undeniable in history and reality. China's determination to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity is unshakable, and any attempt to split China or interfere in China's internal affairs will be firmly resisted.

Some Japanese politicians should recognize the situation and speak and act cautiously. If they continue to act recklessly on the Taiwan issue and add fuel to the fire, the Chinese people will not forget historical grievances. New and old scores will be settled together. If Japan insists on acting as a vanguard for the United States' "anti-China" efforts, it will eventually suffer the consequences and bring unbearable repercussions upon itself.
