[Russian media pay attention to the increasing complaints from Chinese consumers about electric vehicles]

On May 8, the SPEEDME website in Russia reported that a consumer rights protection association report showed that complaints about electric vehicle manufacturers in China are on the rise. During the period from January to March 2025, the main problems involved the return of deposits, disappointment caused by rapid updates and replacements of models, and unfulfilled promised subsidies.

Consumers often pay for car purchase deposits, but later request refunds due to delayed vehicle delivery or characteristics not matching the marketing. However, companies refuse refunds on the grounds of "non-modifiable orders." Additionally, the release of new, higher-configured models shortly after purchasing older models has also引发 more dissatisfaction, creating an unfair feeling.

The failure to receive promised national or regional subsidies is not uncommon. For example, consumers originally expected discounts, but were later refused due to changes in vehicle configurations or delivery deadlines. In many cases, consumers demand deposit refunds but fail to succeed.

Previously, it was reported that the Ministry of Industry of China has approved new safety technical standards for batteries in electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. This document will take effect in July 2026, aiming to reduce fire and explosion risks, especially in the event of traffic accidents and overheating.
