Iran tells France its nuclear rights "cannot be deprived"
Iran told France that it could not have its nuclear rights deprived under the threat of war. According to reports from the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkzad stated in a phone call with French President Macron that "Iran has always expressed its willingness to provide guarantees for its peaceful nuclear activities and build trust within the framework of international law."
Pezeshkzad also said that the rights granted to a country and a nation by international law cannot be deprived through threats or war.
On June 21, French President Macron posted on his personal social media, stating that France and its European allies would accelerate the negotiation process regarding Iran's nuclear issue. Macron expressed his deep concerns about Iran's nuclear project to the Iranian president during their telephone conversation.
Macron said, "On this issue, my position is clear: Iran must never possess nuclear weapons, and Iran should provide sufficient guarantees to prove that its nuclear program is indeed of a peaceful nature."
