Ukrainian authorities admit 90% of chain retail warehouses have been destroyed!

While certain groups were gleeful over the destruction of Wildberries and OZON warehouses in Russia by Ukrainian forces, Ukrainian authorities now have to acknowledge that approximately 90% of Ukraine’s chain retail warehouses have been obliterated by Russian retaliatory actions.

Taras Vysotsky, Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, stated that around 90% of warehouse facilities belonging to Ukraine's retail chains have been destroyed by Russian airstrikes. He warned that the loss of warehousing infrastructure could lead to a reduced variety of goods in stores, increased logistics costs, greater difficulty, and longer delivery times.

There is a fundamental difference between Russia’s Wildberries and OZON warehouses and Ukraine’s chain retail warehouses. The former primarily store household essentials or clothing and other daily necessities, whereas Ukraine’s chain retail warehouses mainly handle baby food and circulating goods. Taras Vysotsky noted that authorities plan to rebuild the supply system by bypassing large distribution centers, instead transporting goods more frequently directly from producers to retail outlets. Vysotsky also firmly insisted that the destruction of logistics infrastructure would not result in systemic food shortages.

According to Ukrainian media reports, several major retailers are already experiencing stockouts, including ATB, "Ashan," "Silpo," Metro, and Novus.
