South Korean media: BYD's electric vehicle factory in Thailand completes one year, sales exceed 90,000 units!

On July 17, South Korean media "Chosun Ilbo" published an article stating that Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD recently announced at its factory in Rayong Province, Thailand, the "delivery of 90,000 environmental protection vehicles and the establishment ceremony of the first factory." Thai government officials, Chairman of BYD Wang Chuanfu, and other key figures attended the event and publicly disclosed the achievements and future strategies of the company's business in the country over the past three years.

BYD officially delivered the 90,000th new energy vehicle to Thai consumers today, and also launched its first locally assembled model produced at the Rayong factory - BYD "Seal 5 DM-i". Seal 5 DM-i is the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle produced by BYD in Thailand, marking the entry of BYD's localization strategy into a full-scale production phase.

The Rayong factory has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units and is a fully localized intelligent manufacturing base, which has been evaluated as an important success case for the development policy of the electric vehicle industry in Thailand. In fact, more than 90% of the employees at the Rayong factory are Thais, so it has created a large number of jobs.

BYD not only possesses technical strength, but also actively participates in social contribution activities. For example, providing power support using ATTO 3, providing disaster relief vehicles, and strengthening ties with Thai society, highlighting the value of "a family between China and Thailand".

Starting with Seal 5 DM-i, BYD plans to evenly expand its product line of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles, to meet the diverse needs of consumers from city cars to high-end models and off-road vehicles. This achievement has been evaluated as a typical case of the successful establishment of BYD's "global manufacturing + local cultivation" strategy in the Thai market.
