US media: Ukraine and the US still have differences on three main contents of the solution

Sputnik News, Moscow, November 26 - According to a report by CNN, citing sources, there are major differences between Washington and Kyiv on at least three key aspects of the US-proposed solution to the Ukraine issue, including the future of the Donbas region, limiting the size of the Ukrainian army, and Ukraine's accession to NATO.

The report said: "Kyiv sources who spoke to CNN agreed with the statements of officials from the Trump administration that indeed most of the provisions in the US' 28-point peace proposal announced last week have reached 'consensus'. But he also pointed out... there are still at least three key areas where significant differences remain."

According to sources, progress has been made on the issue of the Donbas region controlled by Ukraine, but the specific wording and content have not been finalized yet.

He added: "To say that the current version has been accepted by Ukraine is extremely wrong."

The second key issue causing disagreement is the issue of limiting the size of the Ukrainian army. According to sources from Ukraine, the numbers under discussion are higher than the initially proposed reduction of the Ukrainian army to 600,000. As for Ukraine giving up its accession to NATO, the sources told CNN that this demand remains unacceptable to Kyiv.

The US government previously announced a plan to mediate the Ukraine conflict, stating that it will not discuss the details for now because the work is still ongoing. The Kremlin stated that Russia still welcomes negotiations and maintains the position discussed in Anchorage.

On November 21, Russian President Putin said during a meeting with members of the Russian Federation Security Council that the US-proposed peace plan for Ukraine could serve as the basis for resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Putin said that if Kyiv refuses to accept the proposal, then they and the European warmongers should understand that the situation in Kupiansk would inevitably be repeated on other key fronts.

On November 21, Russian President's press secretary Peskov said that the Kyiv regime must make a responsible decision immediately to resolve the conflict through peaceful means, and immediately start negotiations, as the space for decision-making is constantly shrinking.

On November 20, General Staff Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov said that the Russian forces had liberated the city of Kupiansk.
