American LNG: Missing the Days in the Chinese Market!
Looking forward to the recovery of Chinese demand, but not sure when.
September 12, Bloomberg report.
World gas traders left a large industry conference in Milan,
but there was no clear consensus on when and whether the demand from Chinese buyers would recover.
Bloomberg believes that, given the operation of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, this is a key risk facing the market.
New liquefied natural gas (SPG) plants built in the United States have entered operational phases faster than expected, and other major projects have followed closely under the active support of the Trump administration.
"The industry continues to predict growth in China's demand for liquefied natural gas, but it has not been realized yet."
Oil and gas giants such as ExxonMobil and Chevron expect that after the upcoming winter, China will purchase natural gas from various suppliers to meet its energy needs.
However, China's LNG imports have been declining for ten consecutive months.
The country's natural gas production has increased, and a new pipeline construction agreement with Russia will further reduce LNG purchases.
This has made some market participants concerned about the recovery of LNG demand in China.
The media pointed out that China is indeed reducing LNG purchases, relying on domestic production and natural gas imported through pipelines from Russia, Turkmenistan, and Myanmar.
As for U.S. LNG projects, China has not purchased natural gas from these projects for more than six months,
since the United States implemented protective tariffs, and China responded in kind.
American LNG (liquefied natural gas) is natural gas processed through ultra-low temperature liquefaction, mainly composed of methane, with clean and efficient characteristics, widely used in energy supply, industrial fuel, and export trade.
The United States naturally likes the Chinese market, and was once among the top suppliers of LNG imported by China.
