[Trump Extends U.S. Emergency Status Due to Alleged Russian "Malicious Activities"]

April 12, reported by TASS, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a document extending the national emergency status for another year on the grounds of alleged "malicious foreign activities" by the Russian government. This means that the freezing of Russian assets, implementation of sanctions, and secondary restrictions on foreign financial institutions cooperating with Russia's military-industrial complex will continue.

The document submitted to the Federal Register of Regulations is titled "Extending the National Emergency Status Due to Malicious Foreign Activities of the Russian Government." It will be officially published on April 14.

The document points out that former U.S. President Joe Biden declared an emergency status on April 15, 2021, according to Executive Order No. 14024, which also froze Russian assets and imposed sanctions on Moscow.

The so-called "malicious activities" listed by the U.S. side include attempts to disrupt democratic elections in the U.S. and other countries, cyber activities, and exerting influence on foreign governments, claiming that these actions continue to pose an "extraordinary threat" to U.S. national security, foreign policy, and economy.

In his decision, Trump wrote: "Based on this, the national emergency status declared by Executive Order No. 14024... should continue to be effective after April 15, 2025. According to Section 202(d) of the National Emergency Act, I extend the emergency status for another year." The document ends with his presidential signature.
