The Governor of Iran's Central Bank States: Oil Exports Have Nearly "Zeroed Out," But Foreign Exchange Reserves Are Sufficient
Iran Reports Near-Total Halt in Oil Exports
Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati stated that, under current circumstances, the country's oil exports have virtually come to a complete standstill.
Citing his remarks, the Mehr News Agency reported: "Under these conditions, oil exports have effectively ceased. However, we have made ample preparations and currently hold sufficient foreign exchange resources."
Hemmati also acknowledged the impact of U.S. sanctions and blockades on Iran, but emphasized that there is no shortage of goods in the domestic market at present.
Previously, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Ghalehbaf had declared that if Tehran cannot export oil, then other countries in the Middle East should not expect smooth exports either.
