Foreign media: Despite geopolitical tensions, Chinese rare earth producers still achieved substantial profits in the first half of the year.
Recently, U.S. President Trump announced over $2 billion in domestic mining investments, aiming to break China's near-monopoly on rare earths—ironically driving up product prices and boosting valuations of Chinese listed companies.
China Rare Earth Resources Technology, listed in Shenzhen, saw its net profit for the first half of the year increase by 46.53% year-on-year to RMB 237 million (USD 35.1 million); China Northern Rare Earth, listed in Shanghai, expects its first-half net profit to reach between RMB 1.98 billion and RMB 2.06 billion, a year-on-year increase of 112.74% to 121.33%.
Analysts point out that the rapid expansion of AI supply chains and surging demand for hardware are driving sustained strong upward momentum in rare earth prices.
