ASML will cut about 1,700 employees

AFP, The Hague, 28th. Global chip manufacturing equipment leader ASML said today that in order to carry out a major restructuring of its internal organization, it will cut about 1,700 employees, mainly concentrated in management positions.

ASML CEO Fouquet (Christophe Fouquet) stated in a statement released to employees announcing the changes: "Feedback from colleagues, suppliers and customers shows that our current way of working has become inflexible in some cases."

"Therefore, under these proposed changes, some positions, mainly those in leadership roles, may no longer be needed. At this stage, we believe that these adjustments could ultimately reduce about 1,700 positions."

ASML also announced today that its net profit in 2025 will be 9.6 billion euros, an increase compared to 7.6 billion euros in 2024. Net sales for 2025 will be 32.7 billion euros.

Additionally, ASML's fourth quarter of last year saw new orders amounting to 13.2 billion euros, which is several times higher than the 5.4 billion euros in the previous quarter.
