Russian soldier "Zas" shoots down 37 Ukrainian military drones in one day!

He made precise shots using a standard AK-74 automatic rifle.

Mariupol, May 17, TASS reports.

A Russian soldier known by the codename "Zas" shot down 37 drones belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces within a single day, protecting both his comrades and civilians in frontline settlements.

TASS interviewed a commando from the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army of the "East" group, codenamed "X-ray," who recounted his comrade's heroic actions.

"When we entered the settlement on a raid mission, he went in with the first team. He was part of an anti-drone unit stationed along the likely flight path of incoming drones. 'Zas' stood there and shot them down. His personal best? Destroying 37 enemy suicide drones in just one day."

"Thanks to him, our troops were able to enter without injury. And these drones weren’t only targeting us—they also flew toward civilian settlements behind the front lines. He protected not only us but also those innocent civilians," he said.

"X-ray" noted that Zas employed a risky tactic—he would move into open areas to draw drone attention while maintaining extremely accurate fire.

"He walked straight into the open field to confront the drones, luring them toward himself. He was incredibly confident, standing firm and waiting for them to approach before shooting them down mid-air. They exploded in the sky. He used only standard-issue weaponry—a regular AK-74 rifle—no shotgun or smoothbore gun was involved," the commando added.
