[Vance and Zelenskyy's Feud]

On April 15, RBC-Ukraine reported that US Vice President J.D. Vance described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's remarks as "absurd." Previously, Zelenskyy stated that Vance was attempting to exonerate Putin during the Ukraine war.

In an interview with "60 Minutes," Zelenskyy mentioned that Vance did not truly understand the actual situation in Ukraine. He also pointed out that this US vice president had taken the stance that "the Russian people are also suffering in the total war and it is uncertain whether the terrorist state Russia initiated the war."

Zelenskyy said he believed that Vance seemed to be attempting to defend Putin in some way, so he tried to explain to this US vice president who were the victims and who were the aggressors in the war.

In commenting on the remarks of the Ukrainian president, Vance said that he had been condemning Russia since 2022 but also tried to understand the strategic goals of both sides.

"This does not mean that you morally support Russia's position or endorse a full-scale invasion, but you must try to understand their strategic red lines, just as you must understand what Ukrainians are trying to achieve from the conflict." He specifically referred to Zelenskyy's remarks as "absurd" and "obviously unhelpful."
