[Lavrov: Europe Will Do Everything to Prevent a Change of the Zelenskyy Regime]

On April 14th, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov told "Kommersant" in an interview that "all these peace plans described by Macron and Starmer are based on the assumption that it is necessary to preserve at least a small piece of land where the Nazi, openly anti-Russian regime continues to maintain itself, and this regime is still preparing for the next war against Russia, just like when utilizing the Minsk agreements."

Lavrov pointed out that "nowadays, no one dares to mention elections. Americans now say that elections should be held. But Europe will do everything possible to ensure that the essence of the regime does not change." He believed that European leaders might look for "some new semi-dictator," and this dictator would depend less on various material aspects. However, in this case, the essence of the regime will remain the same as when Vladimir Zelenskyy was in power. "This is a big problem for the prestige and reputation of the West."

On April 11th, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov once stated that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy regarded the Russian nation as "sub-humans," and Russia would never hand over territories inhabited by Russian people to such a person. "Returning to the 1991 borders... is impossible, at least because these territories are home to people whom Zelenskyy regards as 'biological entities'... can we imagine handing over these people to such rulers?" He added that the U.S. administration understands Russia's position on territorial concessions.
