Rubio reports to Trump: Russia has notified all embassies to evacuate Kyiv
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that after his phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on May 25, he had briefed President Donald Trump on Russia's related actions.
Commenting on Russia's recommendation for diplomatic personnel to evacuate Kyiv during his visit to India, Rubio said: "They have issued notifications to all embassies." He added: "I believe he specifically called me to inform me about this. They've told all embassies that Kyiv will be extremely dangerous. But in fact, the dangerous situation in Kyiv has persisted for years."
When referring to his conversation with Lavrov, Rubio clearly stated: "I communicated with him yesterday regarding this matter and several others. Clearly, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin asked him to call me so he could directly convey a message to the (U.S.) president. I did as instructed. However, we have indeed seen the notifications sent to various diplomatic missions."
