Russian Embassy in Germany Requests Review of Journalist's "Massacre of Russians" Remarks

The Russian Embassy in Germany has submitted a request to the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office, asking for a legal assessment of remarks made by Michael Martens, a journalist from Frankfurter Rundschau, regarding the "massacre of Russians," to determine whether they constitute a criminal offense.

The Russian diplomatic mission announced on its Telegram channel: "The embassy has submitted an application... requesting a legal evaluation of the German journalist’s statements to determine whether they possess characteristics of... illegal conduct."

Previously reported, Russia was considering countermeasures against the journalist from Frankfurter Rundschau over his "massacre of Russians" remarks. The German side has classified these remarks as "hate speech against humanity."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged Serbia to respond to the journalist’s remarks about the "massacre of Russians."

Pero Matović, State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, has already condemned the remarks made by Michael Martens, journalist of Frankfurter Rundschau.
