The Iranian National Broadcasting Company released a statement on March 12, stating that the Iranian military used drones to attack the Israeli Air Force's Palmachim and Uvda bases, as well as the headquarters of the Israeli Security Agency.
The statement said: "In the past few hours, the Iranian military used 'Kamikaze' drones to attack the watchtowers, personnel, and hangars of the Zionist regime's Palmachim and Uvda airbases, as well as the headquarters of the regime's Shin-Bet (Shin Bet) security agency."
At present, Israeli media has not released any related information.
Palmachim and Uvda are key airbases of the Israeli Air Force:
- The Palmachim base is located near the Palmachim Kibbutz, close to Rehovot and Yavne, mainly responsible for helicopter, drone deployment, and missile launch missions;
- The Uvda base (also known as the Ovda base) is near Eilat and was previously used for civilian aviation emergency landings, now mainly responsible for pilot training and military exercises.
- Both bases are important national defense facilities for Israel.
