The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) posted a video on the social platform X, showing real-time footage of the destruction of three Iranian Air Force aircraft. The U.S. military stated that it is "systematically" destroying the Iranian Air Force.
Experts from the Cable News Network (CNN) confirmed after viewing the video that the U.S. used precision-guided weapons to destroy a U.S.-made C-130 "Hercules" transport plane, a Russian-made Ilyushin Il-76 transport plane, and a U.S.-made P-3 "Orion" reconnaissance aircraft. According to TASS, citing CNN, the targets of the attack were an airport in Kerman city in southeastern Iran.
Looking back, on February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. The White House justified the attack by citing the missile and nuclear threats posed by Iran's enriched uranium and its attempts to develop a nuclear bomb. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran launched counterattacks targeting locations within Israel, as well as targets in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. The attacks resulted in the deaths of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several core members of the leadership.
