Iran's Security Council: U.S. Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz Would Be Seen as Violation of Truce Agreement
The Islamic Republic of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) issued a statement saying that Iran would regard the U.S. maritime blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a violation of the truce regime. In such a scenario, the Islamic Republic of Iran will prevent the limited opening of the strait.
Iran's Tasnim News Agency quoted the SNSC statement, saying: "As long as the U.S. intends to obstruct vessel passage through measures such as maritime blockades, Iran will view this action as a breach of the truce regime and will likewise hinder the limited opening of the Strait of Hormuz."
