Russian Pacific Fleet: Russian and Chinese naval vessels begin joint cruise
The news office of the Russian Pacific Fleet announced that a joint fleet of Russian and Chinese naval vessels has begun a cruise in the Asia-Pacific region.
The statement said: "Russian Navy and People's Liberation Army Navy vessels have formed a joint formation and entered the Sea of Japan to carry out joint cruise missions in the Asia-Pacific region."
The statement pointed out that the formation includes the large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Tributs" and the destroyer "Shaoxing," as well as supply ships from both countries.
The news office stated that the main task of the cruise is to strengthen cooperation between the Russian and Chinese navies, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitor the sea area, and protect the marine economic facilities of Russia and China.
The Pacific Fleet added: "Russian and Chinese naval personnel will also conduct exercises on ship maneuvering and coordination during joint training as per routine."
Joint naval cruises by Russia and China in the Asia-Pacific region are conducted annually. The first one took place in 2021.
Earlier in the day, the two countries' ships completed the joint military exercise "Marine Cooperation-2025." This exercise was held from August 1 to 5, 2025, in the combat training area of the Pacific Fleet in the Sea of Japan.
