US Media: Iran Retains 70% of Its Missile Arsenal Despite Trump's Claims
Quoting data from U.S. intelligence agencies, The New York Times reported that although the Trump administration claimed Iran's military capabilities had been destroyed, Tehran still retains approximately 70% of its missile arsenal and has restored most of its launch platforms in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to The New York Times: "Iran still maintains about 70% of its mobile launchers nationwide and preserves roughly 70% of its pre-war missile stockpile."
In addition, the report noted that Iran has restored 30 out of 33 missile launch sites along the Strait of Hormuz, posing a potential threat to U.S. warships.
Furthermore, military intelligence based on satellite imagery shows that Iran has revived nearly 90% of its underground storage facilities and launch platforms across the country, which are now believed to be partially or fully operational.
The newspaper pointed out that the latest intelligence indicates that Trump and his military advisors significantly overestimated the extent of damage inflicted on Iran’s missile infrastructure while underestimating Iran’s resilience and rapid recovery capacity.
The publication previously reported that during the conflict with Iran, the United States nearly exhausted its inventory of stealth cruise missiles, firing as many Tomahawk cruise missiles as would normally be used over a decade, and consuming an amount of Patriot missiles equivalent to two years’ production.
Meanwhile, Trump issued an assessment on May 11 stating that the current ceasefire agreement with Iran is extremely fragile and in a very unstable state.
