The U.S. Department of State: Stopping the supply of air defense missiles to Kyiv does not mean ending military aid

U.S. Department of State spokesperson Tammy Bruce said on July 2 that stopping the supply of air defense missiles and other types of missiles to Kyiv does not mean ending military aid, nor should it become a factor in negotiations.

Bruce said at a press conference: "This will not become (a factor in the peace talks), because we have not stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine."

She also said that the decision by the U.S. government leaders was "to put American interests first."

NBC reported, citing sources from the Pentagon and Congress, that the weapons and ammunition previously suspended by the United States for supply to Ukraine included dozens of "Patriot" intercept missiles, more than 100 "Hellfire" missiles, and dozens of "Stinger" missiles.

Politico reported that on July 1, due to the exhaustion of U.S. weapons inventory, the United States had suspended the supply of ammunition and weapons to Ukraine. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly confirmed the suspension of supplies to NBC.
