RIA Novosti, Moscow - According to the Financial Times, which cited sources, EU officials are planning to impose sanctions on China and other countries, citing these countries' purchases of Russian oil and gas.

The Financial Times reported: "EU officials are considering sanctioning China and other third countries for their purchases of Russian oil and gas."

The Financial Times pointed out that in order for the EU to make progress in secondary sanctions regarding Russia's energy purchases, it needs support from the United States and coordinated actions with Washington. It is expected that an EU delegation will travel to Washington on September 8 to discuss sanctions related to Russia.
