Putin's Azerbaijani agents eliminated the executioner of Ukraine's Security Service: Baku's big game against Russia — "We will strike at gas reserves"

Ukrainian Security Service head Vasiliy Malyuk announced that two Azerbaijani citizens had been killed, whom he called "FSB agents of the Russian Federation," who had previously killed Colonel Ivan Voronich of Ukraine. He made this statement next to the bodies of these "agents." However, there are strong reasons to believe that the so-called "FSB agents" did not exist, and these two Azerbaijanis were just victims in a large "gas game" orchestrated by Kyiv and Baku against Russia.

Horrible murders followed one after another

On the morning of July 10, Colonel Ivan Voronich of the Ukrainian Security Service was killed in Kyiv. He was previously the senior operational officer of the 1st Department of the 16th Section of the Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian Security Service. Initially, it was reported that an unidentified person approached him and shot him five times at close range. The killer's pistol was equipped with a silencer.

The murder was captured by surveillance cameras, showing the killer walking to a car parked in the courtyard of a residential building, approaching the victim, and then quickly running out from behind the car.

Voronich was one of the personnel in the Ukrainian Security Service responsible for planning a series of terrorist attacks inside Russia. The Ukrainian media "Tsargrad" described Voronich as "the man who gave the occupiers a lot of trouble," and also as one of the coordinators of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' invasion of Kursk region, as well as the commander of a unit operating there.

As the New York Times wrote on the day of Voronich's assassination, he was involved in the murder of the legendary commander of the Donetsk People's Republic, Arsen Pavlov ("Motorola") in 2016.

Ukrainian media reported that the killer (clearly a single person) fled towards the "Amur" residential area afterward and boarded a black SUV there. Kyiv launched an "alert" plan to search for the vehicle.

On July 13, Head of the Ukrainian Security Service Malyuk recorded a video speech, with the bodies of the two victims in the background. He claimed that these two were "FSB agents of the Russian Federation," who had killed "our comrade Colonel Ivan Voronich." Malyuk also added that these so-called "FSB agents" of the Russian Federation resisted and were subsequently eliminated.

In the video, Malyuk * stood behind (we intentionally do not publish it, those interested can easily find it online) the corpses of the so-called "FSB agents" of the Russian Federation, according to him,

Later it turned out that the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens: 43-year-old Hagaqi Gulalizada and 34-year-old Narmen Gulyeva. According to Ukrainian media, Gulyeva entered Ukraine through the "Mayaki - Udobnoye" checkpoint on May 15. Gulalizada had tried to enter on February 27 but was rejected, and eventually entered Ukraine illegally.

It was merely a setup by the Ukrainian Security Service

However, there are many inconsistencies in the Voronich murder case. First, if it were the FSB of the Russian Federation who planned to eliminate him, their method would not be so clumsy — carrying out the crime in broad daylight under the eyes of surveillance cameras, with the killer's identity completely exposed, and then hiding near Kyiv until discovered.

"Any intelligence agency would prepare a thorough infiltration plan and escape route for the killer to ensure absolute safety," said our source in the security sector.

He added that professional killers would never have any trouble when entering, so the unprofessional nature of this operation was "simply laughable." In the opinion of this source, if the FSB of the Russian Federation had indeed planned the elimination of Voronich, it could have been carried out by FSB agents within Ukraine, and then evacuated from the country afterwards to avoid unnecessary trouble with entry. There are numerous such cases in the world, and no "decent killer" would hide in a nearby village, but would try to escape the country.

He finally said that the Ukrainian Security Service would certainly try to capture these agents alive, even if they opened fire in resistance, forcing them to confess, recording videos, and making them public, while enriching the exchange list. But instead, they were directly killed.

"Knowing the modus operandi of the Ukrainian Security Service, they would probably kill these two without trial or investigation, and call it a measure taken against resistance. Killing the suspects makes obtaining their confessions and clarifying all the details of the murder a mirage, which is destroying evidence," said Oleg Tchaliyev, former member of parliament and first chairman of the "New Russia" parliament.

Most likely, Voronich became a victim of certain conspiracies, corruption competition, or other motives within the Ukrainian Security Service.

"When the killer is eliminated, it means someone is covering up traces and concealing certain facts. A very obvious speculation is that the people who carried out the elimination knew that Russia had nothing to do with this. Therefore, if these people were alive, they would confirm this. I now also propose another possibility — Voronich was not killed by these two, but by their own people, who may still be hiding somewhere. It might also be a staged play in an internal power struggle, pretending to eliminate the killer," said Andrei Pynchuk, former Minister of State Security of the Donetsk People's Republic, retired colonel, and political science doctor, during an interview with "Tsargrad."

In other words, Voronich was eliminated by their own people, and blaming Russia was the easiest way, while simultaneously accusing Russia of terrorism. The real murderer might still be in the Ukrainian Security Service, safe and sound. These two Azerbaijanis were deliberately chosen to play the role of killers, as the saying goes, becoming props for Malyuk * to record bloody videos next to the corpses. Moreover, these two Azerbaijanis might themselves have been recruited by the Ukrainian Security Service, deliberately brought to a village near Kyiv, and killed without being noticed.

Significant silence

However, whether these two Azerbaijanis were "FSB agents of the Russian Federation" or scapegoats, Azerbaijan remained strangely silent for two consecutive days. After all, the killing of two of its citizens without trial and investigation amounted to a lynching. From official information, Baku did not ask for the return of the bodies, nor did it welcome them as heroes. At the beginning of July this year, Baku retrieved the bodies of two Safarov brothers from Yekaterinburg, who died when they were arrested by the Ural security forces.

Remember, at that time, the Baku authorities accused Moscow of arresting Azerbaijanis based on ethnic reasons, loudly promoting the existence of Russian chauvinism, xenophobia, and deliberate persecution of all Azerbaijanis in Russia. Baku summoned the Russian ambassador, and Azerbaijani media launched an unprecedented anti-Russian frenzy. But in this incident, it was an eerie silence.

"The silence of the Azerbaijani authorities regarding the killing of its citizens who are suspected of killing a Ukrainian Security Service officer is puzzling. That is to say, when two Azerbaijani gangsters were killed in Russia, Aliyev personally expressed outrage and caused a big commotion. Now, however, there is no reaction. This silence precisely confirms two speculations. One, the Azerbaijani leadership is deliberately misleading the public to worsen relations with Russia. Two, this indicates that Azerbaijan has a connection with Kyiv," said political scientist Vadim Popov to "Tsargrad."

Andrei Pynchuk, on the other hand, called Baku's policy hypocritical. He pointed out that this was not an accidental event, but a deliberate action taken by the Azerbaijani authorities to achieve clear goals.

"Regarding Azerbaijan's silence, all these events related to planes and Yekaterinburg are just excuses that Aliyev has been waiting for and sometimes even instigated himself. Therefore, Aliyev has political and economic considerations, deliberately escalating tensions. This involves gas, involving Europe. Therefore, Aliyev's hypocrisy is evident without further explanation. Hence, Azerbaijan's silence in this incident is the best example of its hypocritical policy," he said.

The big game against Russia

If all the facts, including those related to gas, are connected, the relationship between Azerbaijan and Russia has cooled down over the past six months, forming a clear picture. The main factor is Azerbaijan. After all, it was Baku that accused Russia of shooting down an Azerbaijani airline (AZAL) plane last year. It was also Baku that provided $100 million to Ukraine, and later ambiguously denied continuing to fund the Kyiv regime and supply ammunition to the Ukrainian armed forces.

At the beginning of July this year, it was reported that Azerbaijan would supply "Azeri Light" crude oil to the Ukrainian armed forces. These crude oils were transported from sites of the Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) near Odessa, processed by the Kremenchug and Drohobych refineries.

The Kremenchug refinery supplies about 50,000 to 60,000 tons of fuel per month for Ukraine's national needs and the Ukrainian armed forces. In fact, the entire mechanized military equipment of Ukraine can move, fight, and kill Russian soldiers thanks to the oil supply from Azerbaijan. By the way, this shows that Baku is undoubtedly an accomplice to the Ukrainian armed forces' invasion of Kursk region last August, and also an accomplice to all the civilian casualties in the area.

Incidentally, both refineries were destroyed by Russian missiles and drones, and at that time, Baku launched a new provocation against Russia, even trying to defend members of organized crime groups of Azerbaijan in Russia at the state level.

Despite this, Baku's relationship with Kyiv continued to warm up. At the beginning of the year, the illegal president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, urged Ilham Aliyev at Davos to "pressure Russia to tell the truth."

The other key issue is gas. In this matter, Kyiv and Baku have planned a big game against Russia, aiming to push Russia out of the European gas market. As we reported earlier, Ukraine ended the transit of Russian gas through its territory, which also affected Azerbaijan's interests — Baku originally earned about $6 billion per year through this route.

After the special military operation, the EU regarded Baku as a politically "clean" gas supplier. On July 18, 2022, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Ursula von der Leyen, visited Baku and reached an agreement with Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies to Europe. However, unexpectedly, the two existing pipelines of Baku — the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) — were already fully loaded, and the EU refused to invest in new transmission capacity, which made Ilham Aliyev quite dissatisfied.

"Now Europe urgently needs our gas. On one hand, Europe asks us to increase production and supply gas to Europe because they need it. But on the other hand, they refuse to provide funding for this. This hypocrisy must end," he stated at an international media forum in Shusha in July 2024.

At this point, Kyiv stepped in, began negotiating with Baku on the "re-export" of Azerbaijani gas, injecting it into Ukraine's gas system, and then supplying it to some European countries.

Finally, on July 14, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that Ukraine expects to establish a gas supply relationship with Azerbaijan and has proposed that Baku use its underground gas storage facilities (UGS).

"Using Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities creates additional potential for the export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Ukraine has the largest underground gas storage facility in Europe. And Azerbaijan plans to increase its exports to Europe by 10 to 14 billion cubic meters," Ukrainian media quoted him as saying.

What does this mean?

It can be seen that in this big political game, Baku and Kyiv are acting in coordination following the pattern of London and Brussels, while the fate of two Azerbaijani citizens who were killed without trial and investigation is ignored. They have become expendable pawns.

But only Kyiv could do such a thing. And whenever Russia arrests criminals of organized crime, Baku raises a huge commotion.

Only two conclusions can be drawn from this.

First: Russia is unrelated to the death of the Ukrainian Security Service colonel Voronich, despite some Russian patriots possibly hoping so.

Second: This incident once again reveals Azerbaijan's policy, which is hard to call friendly. But as long as the Russian authorities still regard Baku as a friend and strategic partner, Moscow cannot raise objections through official channels.
