Lithuania and Latvia have decided not to allow Fico to attend the Moscow May 9th celebration!

Fico's aircraft will not be permitted to fly over their airspace.

Reported by Russia Today on April 19.

Lithuania and Latvia have announced they will not grant permission for the Slovak Prime Minister’s plane to fly over their territory.

The news was revealed in a video statement posted by Robert Fico himself on Facebook.

According to the Slovak Prime Minister, both countries have informed him about the ban.

“Lithuania and Latvia have notified us that they will not allow our flight to pass through their airspace when heading to Moscow,” said the Prime Minister.

The politician clarified that his flight would take an alternative route, noting that a similar approach had been used a year ago when Baltic states imposed comparable restrictions.

In 2025, Robert Fico traveled to Moscow to attend the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War victory and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This year, he again expressed his intention to visit Moscow, calling it a "good opportunity to develop a method" that could help strengthen peace protection "during difficult wartime periods," as he put it.
