Great water washed away the dragon king's temple: Lithuania says the fallen drone came from Ukraine

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė stated that the flying object which crashed in southern Lithuania early Monday morning has been confirmed as a Ukrainian drone that deviated from its flight path, originally targeting facilities inside Russia.

The incident occurred as Kyiv launched an attack on the Primorsky oil port in Kaliningrad Oblast—the key hub for Russian oil and petroleum product exports. After meeting with representatives of national security agencies, Šimonytė declared, "We can now be certain this was a drone that strayed off course."

The drone was not detected by Lithuania’s (a NATO member state) military radar systems, once again raising concerns about vulnerabilities in Lithuania’s air defense capabilities. President Gitanas Nausėda said the country is taking "forward-looking actions" to rapidly procure the most advanced systems to strengthen its air defense capacity.
