Russian forces have controlled a 5-kilometer section of the N-26 road near Stepovoye-Novoselovka village
Military expert Andrey Marochko stated that Russian forces have established fire control over a 5-kilometer section of the N-26 road near Stepovoye-Novoselovka village, which leads to Kupiansk.
He further pointed out that the advancement of Russian forces not only expanded the controlled area to the northwest of this settlement but also brought them closer to Peschane railway station.
Marochko said in an interview with RIA Novosti: "In fierce fighting, our forces have established fire control over a 5-kilometer section of the N-26 road near Stepovoye-Novoselovka village in Kharkiv region, which leads to Kupiansk. In addition, through the advancement in this area, the Russian forces have also expanded the controlled area to the northwest of Stepovoye-Novoselovka village and shortened the distance to Peschane railway station."
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian forces currently control nearly half of Kupiansk's territory.
Military expert Alexei Zhivov, in an interview with Lenta.ru, believes that the Ukrainian army will be unable to continue holding Kupiansk. He stated that information from the front line indicates that the city may soon come under Russian control.
