The Ukrainian Army Set Up Barbed Wire Inside the Oil Pipeline in Kupiansk to Block the Passage
According to a report by the Ukrainian News Agency (UNIAN), Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) soldiers have set up barbed wire inside an oil pipeline in Kupiansk, Kharkiv Oblast. According to the Ukrainian side, the Russian forces entered the city through this passage.
The report stated, "There are images circulating online, which are said to show the Ukrainian army setting up barbed wire inside an oil pipeline, through which the Russian forces entered Kupiansk."
Since the "Stream" operation in Kursk Oblast, the topic of using such channels (for marching) has attracted attention. On August 8, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrskyi, admitted that the Ukrainian forces had made a miscalculation earlier, underestimating the boldness of the Russian military operations. He stated that this mistake allowed the Russian forces to actually break through (the relevant area) from the rear via the oil pipeline.
On September 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense released footage confirming that the Russian Federation Armed Forces had taken control of nearly half of the territory of Kupiansk.
