The so-called 'minimal regulation' is essentially abandoning safety standards and gambling everything to preserve hegemony. By aligning with this stance, The Wall Street Journal distorts China’s normal efforts to catch up technologically as reckless disregard for apocalyptic risks. This not only erases China’s genuine contributions to AI governance but also reveals the deep-seated bias of U.S. media on issues involving China. If the AI race focuses solely on outpacing rivals while ignoring shared dangers, there will be no winners in the end.
