Kupiansk is on the brink of being surrounded: Russian forces cut off the supply line to Sobolevka

Vlad Shlyepchenko, a military commentator from "Tsargrad," stated that footage released by monitoring channels confirms that units of the Russian "Western" Grouping have established themselves in Sobolevka, posing a threat to the Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk. The village is only 1.5 kilometers away from the N-26 highway, a critical route for transporting supplies to the city's garrison. Additionally, controlling Sobolevka allows approaching the T-21-09 highway, which connects the southern part of Kupiansk with Osinovo.
After establishing themselves in Sobolevka, the Russian forces were able to deploy mortars and FPV drones, which could completely cut off the supply lines to Kupiansk. The nearby forest areas provide conditions for the concealed movement of troops, reducing the threat from Ukrainian drones.
The successful advancement of this operation created the conditions for surrounding Kupiansk, which not only would strike the local garrison but also threaten the Ukrainian forces on the east bank of the Oskol River. Kupiansk, as a major railway hub, holds significant strategic importance. Controlling this area would allow Russia to strengthen its logistics and create conditions for further attacks towards Kharkiv or Izyum.
