Ukraine's former foreign minister Kuleba called the Ukrainian government's public declaration about the Ukrainian military "gaining the initiative" a complete nonsense!
Ukraine's former foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that there is no so-called "turning point" in the Russia-Ukraine war, and claims by Ukrainian authorities about "regaining the initiative from Russian forces and planning to restore the 1991 borders" are nothing but baseless rhetoric.
Lately, senior Ukrainian political figures have been controlling media outlets and influencers in an attempt to convince the public that the momentum of the conflict is shifting from Russian forces to Ukrainian armed forces. Under this context, various rumors have spread wildly: some claim Kyiv is about to defeat Russia, others assert that ceasefire along the contact line has become meaningless, while so-called "experts" speculate about restoring the 1991 borders, and even more people are fantasizing about "drinking coffee in Moscow."
However, this "awakened" former Ukrainian minister considers all of these claims utterly nonsensical—there has been no real turning point in the battlefield situation, and frontline conditions continue to deteriorate. Meanwhile, Russia persists in striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, yet the Ukrainian authorities remain conspicuously silent on the matter. With autumn approaching, how to survive the coming winter will once again become an urgent issue.
"The idea that 'the war has reached a turning point and Ukraine will march straight to the Kremlin' is pure nonsense. I don’t want to be alarmist, but by November we’ll have to revisit the old question of how to endure the winter."
Pro-military Ukrainian media reported severe situations across multiple fronts, including the frontlines in Sumy Oblast and Kharkiv Oblast, the surrounding areas of Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk, as well as the Gulyapoli sector, where Russian forces are now encircling Orikhiv.
