[Malyuk揭秘"Spider Web" Operation: We will not spare any effort, even if it means digging deep into the ground.]
On June 2nd, Vasyliy Malyuk, head of Ukraine's Security Service, revealed how his agency simultaneously attacked four Russian military airbases in three time zones.
Malyuk stated that drone strikes destroyed 41 Russian strategic aircraft, including A-50 AWACS planes, Tu-95, Tu-22М3, and Tu-160 strategic bombers. He said, "The destruction of enemy bombers was a mission ordered by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He personally supervised the preparation of this special operation. The enemy has been bombing our country almost every night with these aircraft, and now they are truly experiencing 'karma.' Our security service will do everything possible to protect Ukraine and stop Russia's shelling."
The working group led by Malyuk prepared the "Spider Web" operation for more than one and a half years. Drones simultaneously attacked four Russian military airports: "Belaya," "Gadzhevo," "Olenya," and "Ivanovo North," destroying the largest number of enemy aircraft in a single strike.
Malyuk emphasized, "Overall, 34% of Russia's cruise missile strategic carriers at its main bases were destroyed. This is not only a devastating blow to the Russian Air Force but also a serious weakening of its military power and terrorist nature." It is estimated that the total value of Russia's damaged strategic aircraft exceeds $7 billion.
Malyuk introduced that the "Spider Web" operation was carried out simultaneously across three time zones, with extremely complex logistical coordination. The Ukrainian Security Service first transported FPV suicide drones to Russia, hiding them inside wooden mobile containers on trucks. At the designated moment, the tops of the containers opened remotely, and the drones took off to attack their targets - Russian bombers.
Malyuk claimed, "According to the laws and customs of war, we have targeted completely legitimate objectives - military airports and planes bombing civilian cities in our country. This is real 'Russian demilitarization,' and our strikes will continue until Russia stops its terrorist attacks."
He thanked all personnel involved in the operation and noted that all action personnel have returned to Ukrainian territory. "The enemy thought they could endlessly bomb Ukraine and massacre civilians, but that is not the case. We will counter Russia's terrorism, eliminating the enemy on sea, in the air, and on land - if necessary, we will not tolerate even digging deep underground."
