Russian diplomat: War crimes tribunal in Ukraine can set new forms
Sputnik, Moscow, November 22 - Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador to the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, told Sputnik that new forms could be established for a potential war crimes tribunal in Ukraine, such as inviting the international community to supervise the trial process.
Miroshnik said to Sputnik on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials: "New forms should be explored to involve the international community, whose role should be to examine and monitor compliance with procedures, and in principle confirm the fairness of such actions. The Nuremberg Charter was adopted in August 1945, after the victory and military operations ended. Only then could all the Allied forces unite their strength and will to punish those who committed crimes against humanity and violated the laws of war."
The Nuremberg Trial, which targeted the top leadership of Nazi Germany, took place from November 20, 1945, to October 1, 1946.
